Social Media Kit Licensing Terms

What’s a license?

A license is permission to download and use our digital products within certain limits.

One social media kit license grants you permission to post the assets in that kit (images and text) to 100 people on your social media account(s) (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, Instagram). In order to post to more than 100 people, purchase more than one license. You can purchase multiple copies of a license by changing the cart quantity on the product page.

To determine how many licenses you need:

  1. Determine the total number of followers on your social media account at the time of purchase. This number should be readily available on your account page. If you have multiple social media accounts, use the number of followers on the largest account.
  2. Divide the number of followers on your largest account by 100 and round up. This is the number of licenses you will need.

Once you have purchased a license, you may post the images and text in the social media kit to multiple social media accounts as many times as you wish, even if the number of followers on your social media account increases after you purchase the license.

For example…

For example, suppose a parish has 892 followers on its Facebook page and 403 followers on its Instagram account.

  • The parish would purchase nine licenses per social media kit, because 892 divided by 100 is 8.92, which rounds up to 9.
  • The parish would then be able to post the assets in the social media kit to both its Instagram and Facebook accounts as often as it likes, indefinitely.

Print and e-mail licensing

If your parish or organization intends to distribute one or more assets in print (e.g., parish bulletin) or to an e-mail list, calculate the total number of licenses you will need by dividing the total distribution by 100 and rounding up. If you print 900 bulletins, purchase 9 licenses; if your e-mail list includes 704 recipients, purchase 8 licenses.
